We discussed this months ago..  Are we having an IMBC meeting during the NTS or not?  When...where....etc?   Group ride???   I hope???


Any chance we can get reduced prices to get into this thing?  Seems way too expensive for grass roots advocates, which makes me suspicious of how informative and useful it may be.

Hi Terry,

Glad to hear from you.  I've been trying to get some feedback from  
IMBC for some time now.

I agree the price is inhibitive.  My recommendation was to have your  
IMBC reps as volunteers.  They could help with the rides and provide  
experience and  insights to the trail instructions.

IMBA will be on all our rides and FORC is suppose to provide some  
educational content.

I'll need your volunteers names ASAP.  I could use up to 6-10  
volunteers for various duties, including the trail rides.  I need  
help (muscle) with convention set up and clean up etc.

Let me know asap what you can offer.   i still can offer lodging for  
4-6 people at my home if needed.  Depending on whether IMBA rep stays  
here.

I plan on coming up at some point.  I can hang out with the ranger from Farmdale, he's got a room and has offered to allow me to crash there.  What days would you need help with set up, etc.??  If this would allow me to sit in on a few of the seminars I'd greatly appreciate it!!!

CAMBr has their end-of-year Poker Ride that weekend.  Me?  I should be there Pokering, but a couple of people from the Greenways and Trails Council group have asked me to be at the NTS, I hear they liked my two presentations at the G&T Northern workshop last week.    

Continuing with the pats on the back ...

TC- an equestrian from your area attended the workshop and had nothing but high regard for the PAMBA trail folks.  Nothing like hearing complimentary things from people about friends when I least expect it.  Kudos to you guys in Peoria.

Dean,

  I'm all in favor of having IMBC reps be present as volunteers in the
manner you are describing but, I do have some questions as to how this
would work.  First, what days would our folks need to be there for? 
Should IMBC members volunteering plan on being in attendance for the
thursday/friday sessions or, would it be acceptable for people to come
out just for saturday/sunday?  And related to that...  what day would we
be able to hold our IMBC Board meeting?  Is there a conference room
available that we could use for an hour or two for this purpose?

I can't speak for the rest of the IMBC Board but, I am certainly planning
on being there for this one so you can put me down as a volunteer ready to
assist in any way neccessary.  However, due to work, I won't be able to
arrive out there until sometime friday evening so I hope that will be
acceptable for you.

Ed,

  Sounds like you're doing some good work there if you've been invited to
take part in the NTS!  Congrats and keep it up!  =)

  And thanks for letting us know about the feedback you are hearing about
PAMBA's work (and from equestrians no less!  even more significant!). 
Let me join you in those kudos to the Peoria folks.  I know that our
other member clubs are also doing some great work in their areas so I
think it's also appropriate that we thank all of the hardworking trail
stewards we have all across the state for all of the time and energy
that they have put into making Illinois an even better place for
mountain bikers to live in and/or visit.  Keep up the great work
everyone and I look forward to seeing many of you at the NTS and hearing
in detail about all that you have going on.

I'm flexible here.  I can use help Wednesday afternoon, Thursday, or 
Saturday.

You let me know when you can be here and I'll give you an assignment.   
  But I need some names, times, and basic contact info within the next 
few days.  I'll put Marco on the IMBA outing for Saturday.

You will need to contact John Blair from FORC, about your IMBC meeting. 
  He can easily reserve the Front Street Brew Pub basement given a 
little notice.  It is within walking distance of the River center.
